Occupational Therapists - Fargo

Stephen Olson - Director

Occupational Therapy Coordinator & Owner; OTR/L

Stephen received his bachelor of science in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota. He has been working in pediatrics since 1998 in multiple settings including acute care, outpatient, school-based services, and community-based services.

Stephen was a primary therapist for specialty clinics serving children with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, pediatric neurological injury, and growth and development for NICU graduates. He has extensive training in the areas of NDT, sensory integration, growth and development, splint and orthotic fabrication, handwriting, and feeding. He is certified in the SOS feeding program.

In addition to his active participation as an NDOTA and AOTA member, Stephen also serves on the Medicaid task force. Stephen has served on the planning committee as well as been an active participant for the local Mobility Camp assisting children to become more aware of new and exciting adaptive equipment. He has been on the Interagency Coordinating Committee for the state of North Dakota for over 12 years and has served on the advisory committee for the North Dakota School of Science Occupational Therapy Assistant Program since 2012. Stephen also is on the North Dakota Autism Taskforce sub-committee.

Stephen enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and spending time with his children. He is also involved in coaching youth basketball, baseball, and football.

Jill Stroup- OT Coordinator

Jill Stroup has been a therapist since 1994, when she graduated from UND with her Bachelors of Science Degree but later went on to pursue a Master’s of Science Degree from UMary in 2003. She joins us from Alexandria, MN where she was a Therapy Director for almost ten years. Jill has a broad range of expertise, experience, and training in occupational therapy ranging from medical and school based pediatrics to adult rehab, geriatrics and therapy leadership and management. Jill’s professional interests include occupational therapy leadership, advocacy and management as well as patient/family engagement and education in the therapy process, and evidenced based practice combined with meaningful patient/family goals to create successful outcomes.

Jill, originally from the Fargo area, enjoys spending time her husband and two daughters. She has a special interest in mind and body wellness, and has been a long-time yoga instructor.

Abigail Rothfusz

Abigail “Abby” Rothfusz graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then received her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.

Abby has experience in an inpatient hospital as well as outpatient pediatrics and has worked with children most of her life. Abby did a rotation with PTP in grad school and liked it so much she joined the team upon graduation. Abby loves the variety being a pediatric occupational therapist brings day to day!

In her spare time, Abby enjoys running, yoga, and spending time with friends and family.

Amanda Johnson

Amanda Johnson received her master of science in occupational therapy and her bachelor of university science both from the University of Mary in Bismarck. She gained fieldwork experience in both adult and pediatric care, including a school with a focus on special education.

Amanda is talented as a general practitioner and also focuses on sensory integration, social skills, developmental delays, handwriting, fine motor delays, and enjoys working with children on the autism spectrum.

Outside of OT, Amanda spends her time with friends and family, cooking, baking, and crafting. You might find her scouring thrift stores and garage sales on the weekends looking for new board games for her therapy practice! Amanda joined PTP in summer 2016.

Bailey Stotts

Bailey joins our team with both a master’s degree in occupational therapy and a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of North Dakota. Bailey has experience in a variety of areas including outpatient pediatrics, schools, skilled nursing and residential mental health with children, outpatient rehab, home health, and industrial settings.

Bailey has specific interests in the areas of autism spectrum disorders, pediatric and adolescent mental health, and sensory processing disorders. She is certified in Physical Agent Modalities (PAMS) and has training in the treatment of bowel and bladder dysfunction.

When not working with her patients, Bailey enjoys spending time with family, being in the kitchen baking up goodies, and crafting her way through Pinterest.

Bailey joined PTP in summer 2015.

Barb received her associate of applied science in occupational therapy from North Dakota State College in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Barb has worked as a pediatric certified occupational therapy assistant for over 20 years. Prior to Pediatric Therapy Partners, she worked in the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School District.

Barb has worked with children in many school-related settings including the birth to 3 program, preschool, elementary, and middle school. The emphasis of her training and experience includes behavior interventions, autism spectrum disorders, sensory regulation dysfunction, developmental delays, and handwriting issues. Barb is also trained in SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach to feeding, and Crisis Prevention Intervention. She enjoys working with children and promoting developmental life skills in order to help them be functional and participate in their environmental settings.

Barb's hobbies are reading, golfing, and traveling.

Barb joined Pediatric Therapy Partners in 2013.

Brianna Jastram

Brianna received her Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of North Dakota. She has over four years of experience working primarily in outpatient pediatrics, but Brianna also is skilled in acute care, inpatient rehab, and adult outpatient treatment.

Brianna has been trained in the SOS approach to feeding and in PAMs (Physical Agent Modalities). Brianna specializes in working with children with developmental, neurological, and physical disabilities as well as feeding difficulties. She also has additional training on brain development.

Brianna (who pronounces her name Bry-anna) returned home to North Dakota in May 2016 after spending 3 years living in Nebraska. She enjoys cooking new recipes, yoga, walking her dog, reading, and spending time with her family. Brianna joined PTP in the spring of 2016.

Carlie Rinas

Carlie Rinas received her master's degree in occupational therapy from St. Catherine University in Minnesota. She has over five years experience in outpatient pediatrics, and has also worked in home health, acute care and long-term care.

Carlie has certifications in Therapeutic Listening, SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach to feeding, and Interactive Metronome. She has received additional training in NDT (neuro-developmental treatment) and sensory integration.

Outside of work, Carlie enjoys spending time with her family, doing crafts, baking, canning, reading, going to the lake, gardening, and playing with her cats and dog.

Carlie joined Pediatric Therapy Partners in 2015.

Darla holds an Associate of Science degree from North Dakota State College of Science. As a member of the NDOTA and a past North Dakota COTA of the Year winner, she has experience with adults and children in hospital settings, as a case manager, and in an outpatient clinic.

Darla especially enjoys working with children with autism, developmental delays, and neurological disorders, and with sensory processing difficulties. She also has additional training on brain development.

When she’s not working with patients, Darla enjoys spending time at the lake, being with her family, coffee time with friends, fishing, going for walks, reading, sewing, and scrapbooking.

Darla joined PTP in 2015.

Karlene Nelson

Karlene has both her bachelors and master’s degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck. Karlene has occupational therapy experience in acute care, pediatric sensorimotor group therapy, and private practice pediatric care. Her interests include Autism Spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, handwriting, developmental delays, feeding skills and sensory processing disorder. Karlene is NBCOT certified; and also CPR, AED and First Aid certified.

In Karlene’s free time, she enjoys cooking & baking, crafting and going to the lake. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Karlene joined PTP in April 2017.

Kaitlyn Ludwig

Kaitlyn Ludwig graduated from Minnesota State University of Moorhead with her Bachelor of Arts in Biology: Health and Medial Emphasis with a minor in Art. She went on to receive her Doctor of Occupational Therapy from the University of South Dakota. She completed a doctoral capstone in the use of OT with a sensory integration approach in the treatment of idiopathic toe walking.

 Kaitlyn has experience in acute care, inpatient rehab and outpatient pediatrics. Kaitlyn has gained additional education in sensory integration and toe walking, creating and implementation of sensory diets, and the difference between challenging behaviors and difficulties in sensory modulation in children. Kaitlyn was a student at PTP and joined our team full time after she graduated. Her areas of interest include Sensory Processing Disorder(SPD) and sensory-based feeding therapies.

 When Kaitlyn isn’t caring for our patients she enjoys crocheting and quilting.

Lexi is originally from Sioux Falls. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from University of Nebraska Lincoln, and achieved her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of South Dakota. Lexi has worked with children with special needs through high school and into college; and did her field work in Early Intervention.

Lexi enjoys spending time with her husband and family; also camping and enjoying time at the lake.

Lexi joined PTP in January 2017.

Mary Alice Buettner

Mary Alice received her bachelor of science in occupational therapy from St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul. She has worked as a pediatric therapist for over 36 years with children of all ages in group homes, school systems, and home environments.

Mary Alice has extensive training in the areas of sensory integration, autism strategies, and neurodevelopment techniques. In recent years, she has specialized in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders. During the past several summers, Mary Alice has worked for the Minnesota Autism Society at their day and overnight camps, and she also plays a primary role in mentoring new staff. 

Mary Alice works per diem for Pediatric Therapy Partners as well as working in the area school systems. She joined PTP in 2007.

Sharon Drewlo

Sharon received her bachelor of science in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota. She has worked in pediatrics for over 29 years in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient, Community Re-entry Program, Rehab Day Hospital Program, Home Health, and Early Intervention.

Sharon is a certified provider of both the Therapeutic Listening Program and the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding Program. She has extensive training in Sensory Integration and is certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment. Sharon has worked with many different diagnoses including developmental delay, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, prematurity, and sensory processing disorder. She is a member of AOTA and NDOTA. Sharon values being able to work with the children, parents, and caregivers in the children’s natural environments to help them achieve their maximum potential in their daily activities, play, and routines.

Sharon enjoys hiking, cycling, traveling, camping, downhill and cross country skiing, gourmet club, and spending time with family and friends. 

Sharon has been with Pediatric Therapy Partners since 2007.

Suzanne Skogen

Suzanne Skogen holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Minnesota and bachelor of science degrees in both exercise science and sociology with a minor in psychology from NDSU.

Suzy has over six years of experience in a variety of settings, including a pediatric outpatient clinic, early intervention, and in multiple school settings working with children in grades preK-8. She has experience working with a variety of diagnoses and is certified in Handwriting Without Tears. Building independence and confidence in her patients is an important focus for Suzy as she works alongside children and their families to participate in and improve their daily activities and routines.

Outside of work, Suzy likes spending time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephew. She enjoys sporting events, particularly NDSU football, working out and being outdoors, and cooking and baking. Suzy joined PTP in 2016.

Taylor Anderson

Taylor earned her Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND; she is also pursuing her master’s in occupational therapy.

Taylor has occupational therapy experience in outpatient services, and inpatient geriatrics and pediatrics. She has worked with children for over five years. Her professional interests include sensory integration and developmental delays. Taylor is CPR and AED certified.

Taylor, who is originally from Barnesville, MN; enjoys spending time with friends and family and playing league volleyball.

Taylor joined our team in February 2018.

Hannah Zimmerman- Therapy Coordinator

Hannah received her master's degree in occupational therapy from the University of Mary. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Enhancement in Assessment and Treatment of Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Disorders. She is certified in Neuro-Development Treatment in Infants and Children, and Therapeutic Listening.

Hannah has experience working with children of all ages with developmental and physical delays. She has advanced training in treating children with trauma, feeding and swallowing, and sensory processing disorders.

In her free time, Hannah enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, and being outdoors.

Hannah joined PTP in 2014, she was promoted to Therapy Coordinator in the Fall of 2017.

Alexandra Winters

Alexandra Winters received her Bachelors in University Studies and Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy, both from the University of Mary. Alexandra has experience in adult acute care, with the pediatric population and in adult rehab. Alexandra has worked with children of all ages, from birth through adolescents, for over six years.

Her areas of interest include infant & childhood development, sensory integration, feeding therapy, and neurological conditions. She is CPR and AED certified.

When Alexandra isn’t helping our patients, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding horse, reading, being outdoors, and traveling.

Ariana joins our team with both a master’s degree in occupational therapy and a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Mary in Bismarck. Ariana has experience in a variety of areas including outpatient pediatrics and early intervention, geriatrics at a skilled nursing facility, and as a behavior interventionist for children with autism.

Ariana is especially passionate about working with her patients on sensory integration, handwriting, feeding, and social skills. She enjoys helping those with developmental delays and neurological disorders as well.

When not working with her patients, Ariana enjoys camping, snow skiing, running, cooking, reading, and scrapbooking.

Ariana joined PTP in early 2016.

Jesse Wutzke

Jesse has her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and minor in special education from the University of Mary in Bismarck.Jesse has occupational therapy experience in outpatient pediatrics, inpatient from neonates to geriatrics, and school based therapy. Her interests include pediatric feeding, sensory integration and development across the entire lifespan. Jesse is a Certified Lactation Counselor, is certified in SOS Approach to Feeding, Handwriting without Tears, and Plagiocephaly and Torticollis.

In Jesse’s free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family; and enjoying the outdoors.

Jodi Glasser

Jodi received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mary and her Associate of Science from Bismarck State College. She is currently obtaining her Certificate in Autistic Spectrum Disorders from the University of North Dakota.

Jodi has over 10 years of experience, working in public schools, and various contracted adult and pediatric therapy settings within the Bismarck and Mandan communities.

Her areas of interest include pediatrics, autism, sensory integration, school systems and family education.
In her personal time, Jodi enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three kids, volunteering with the children's ministry at Legacy United Methodist Church, destination vacations with great friends, reading, shopping and coffee dates.

Jodi joined the Pediatric Therapy Partners family in September 2013.

Julie received her Bachelor of Science in University Studies with a minor in psychology and master’s in occupational therapy, both from the University of Mary in Bismarck. Julie has experience in adult acute care and outpatient pediatrics. Julie completed her pediatric clinical rotation here at PTP, where she gained hands on experience with children of all ages.

Her areas of interest include sensory integration, social thinking, and working with children with developmental delays. She is AED/CPR certified.

When Julie isn’t assisting our patients, she enjoys spending time with her family & friends, traveling, reading, and camping.

Julie Sandvig

Julie received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mary in Bismarck. She has experience working as a pediatric therapist, as well as working in geriatrics and outpatient hand therapy.

Julie enjoys working with all age groups, with experience in aquatic therapy, orthopedics, and splinting. She is certified in Herman and Wallace Pediatric Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Kinesiotaping. She also has additional training in AEIOU Feeding Therapy, sensory integration, and NDT techniques.

In her free time Julie enjoys traveling, kayaking, bike riding and camping.

Julie joined the PTP team in 2015.

Kamela received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota. She has experience working in inpatient adult transitional care, outpatient mental health, and pediatrics.

Kamela is passionate about helping all children, especially with sensory integration and developmental delays. Katie Thorson

MS, Occupational Therapist

Katie has experience in outpatient adult and pediatric settings, with a focus on social skills, sensory integration, feeding, and developmental and physical delays. She holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mary in Bismarck.

With a well-rounded background, Katie is passionate about working with children on feeding, self-regulation, and motor delays. She holds a certificate in SOS Feeding Approach.

Outside of Pediatric Therapy Partners, Katie enjoys shopping, traveling, reading, crafting, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog.

Katie joined PTP as a full-time therapist in 2016.

Kristina Bouley

Kristina Bouley holds a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of North Dakota. She has over six years of experience in pediatrics, as well as experience in home health care.

She is certified in the Therapeutic Listening Program, Beckman Oral Motor, Handwriting Without Tears (Level 1 Tutor), Kinesiotaping, and CPI. She is also an AmTryke Evaluation and Fitting for Therapists Trainer. Kristina specializes in handwriting, sensory processing disorders, early intervention, and autism spectrum disorders.

When she’s not with patients, Kristina enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, photography, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering with AMBUCS.

Kristina joined PTP in the summer of 2016.

Lisa Van Heukelom

Lisa Van Heukelom earned her Bachelors of Science in Social Work and her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mary. Lisa has experience working in acute care, in-patient rehab, pediatrics and several years working with at- risk youth; all making her a great fit for Pediatric Therapy Partners. Her professional interests include sensory integration, self-regulation, and social skills. Lisa also has her Therapeutic Listening certificate.

When Lisa isn’t helping patients she enjoys spending time with friends and family and playing the violin.

Lisa joined PTP in August 2017.

Mary Kay Flemmer

Mary Kay received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Dakota.

Mary Kay has 18 years of experience working with children and young adults. She is certified in sensory integration and is able to administer the SIPT. Mary Kay is also trained in Handwriting Without Tears, infant massage, kinesio taping method and NDT.

Mary Kay enjoys working with children with sensory based challenges, premature infants and with neuromuscular based challenges.

In her personal time Mary Kay enjoys spending time with her two children, traveling, baking, crafting and walking.

Mary Kay joined the Pediatric Therapy Partners team in 2013.

Brian Borchardt - Coordinator

Physical Therapy Coordinator & Owner; MPT

Brian received a Bachelor of Science in both physical therapy and psychology as well as his master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of North Dakota. He has worked in pediatrics since 1998 in a variety of settings including hospital inpatient, outpatient, school-based, and early intervention.

Brian enjoys working with families to coordinate all aspects of children's services. He has training in orthotics, special needs equipment, NDT, Myofascial Release, aquatic therapy, hippotherapy, Down syndrome, childhood fitness and exercise, and childhood athletic injuries. He also serves on the ND Medicaid Task Force.

Brian enjoys golf and coaching his children’s sports teams. He lives in Horace with his wife Amy and their three children.

Alishia Daily

PT, DPT

Alishia received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with an emphasis in Health & Medical Sciences from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

She has worked with children with special needs and typically developing children in various capacities, including daycares as well as a local respite care company. She is interested in gross motor skill development as well as neuromuscular rehabilitation in children of all ages. Alishia has additional training in aquatic therapy through Aquatic Therapy University and is excited to explore more opportunities in this area.

Alishia enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters., being active outdoors, reading, and spending time at the lake.

Alishia joined the Pediatric Therapy Partners team in 2011.

Jodi received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of North Dakota and was the first PT at Pediatric Therapy Partners to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. 

She has experience in gross motor skill development within a variety of diagnosis, as well as orthopedic and neuromuscular rehabilitation.  She has training in a variety of areas including aquatics, gait analysis, postural control, infant massage and extension training in Kinesio Taping with kids. She enjoys finding ways to enable all children to participate to their fullest potential in any activity. Jodi also has additional training on brain development.

When not seeing patients, she is more than likely to be found with her husband and 2 children out exploring nature or having a family game night.  She also has a passion for the sport of gymnastics and loves an afternoon on the golf course or in the gym.

Madelynne Sager

Maddi received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UND in Grand Forks. Before graduating she was a student at PTP for 9 weeks and loved it so much she decided to come and work here!

Maddi has experience in pediatric bowel and bladder dysfunction, gross motor skill development, aquatic therapy, and rehabilitation following orthopedic surgeries and injuries. She focuses on developing an individualized treatment plan for each patient to help them reach their personal goals. Maddi also has additional training on brain development.

In her free time, Maddi enjoys spending time with her family and friends, including her fur babies, Moose and Dot. She also likes being at the lakes, spending time outside, and tries to get a new book read each week!

Maddi joined PTP full time in 2015.

Suzanne Hammer

PT, DPT

 Suzanne completed her pre-physical therapy coursework at NDSU and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from UND in 2006. Suzanne has over ten years of experience in inpatient and outpatient pediatrics as well as school-based services; her special interests include early motor development, aquatics, special education, and youth sports. Suzanne is CPI, CPR, and first aid certified; and has additional education in post-concussion treatment, NDT, sensory integration, and toe-walking.

When Suzanne isn’t taking care of patients, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing recreational volleyball, and loves seeing her favorite bands live in concert!

Suzanne works for PTP as a per diem therapist.

Tara Jaeger

Tara received her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Jamestown. She holds a bachelor of science degree in athletic training and exercise science from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

As a certified athletic trainer with an emphasis on youth sports, Tara also has experience working with children with various abili...ties through her fieldwork internship. She especially enjoys working with children with orthopedic injuries and rehabilitation, gross motor development, and on gait analysis and the neuromuscular system.

Tara enjoys spending time with her family and children. Outside of work you might find her at the lake, on the golf course, lifting weights, rollerblading, or playing volleyball.

Physical Therapists - Bismarck

Erika Jossart earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Exercise Science from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. She went on to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Jamestown. She has clinical experience in a wide array of settings; including pediatrics, in-patient rehab, outpatient hospital, private practice and also skilled nursing. Her passion is pediatrics, especially children with neurological impairments.

In her spare time she enjoys playing sports, especially basketball and golf, fishing, hunting, and spending time with her family at the lake.

Erika joined PTP in August 2017.

Kiley received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota.

Kiley has experience working with outpatient pediatrics, inpatient pediatrics, and in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She enjoys working with children with neuromuscular-based challenges and developmental delays and has a special interest in neuro-developmental treatment.

Kiley is a certified TheraTog Fitter (CTF) Level  1 and has had additional training in serial casting, orthotics, wheelchair seating and positioning, neuro-developmental treatment, children with visual impairments, and kinesio taping.

In her free time, Kiley enjoys playing the piano, shopping, traveling, reading, and skiing.

Lisa Lafleur

PT, MPT

Lisa received her master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of North Dakota. She has experience working with pediatrics in both medical centers and special education units.

A lover of medicine, biology, and neuro-development, Lisa enjoys applying her knowledge and skills to gross motor development in children. She is passionate about watching kids find success in their development and play, especially through fun and creative methods!

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys reading, scrapbooking, photography, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She joined the PTP team in the summer of 2016.

Laura graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with her bachelor’s in biology and went onto pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Jamestown. She has experience in skilled nursing facilities and pediatrics; Laura has worked with children most of her adult life. She is AED & CPR certified.

Outside of working with kiddos, she enjoys traveling, skiing, snowshoeing, wakeboarding, and being outside!

Janette Venaas-Gilbraith - Coordinator

Speech Coordinator/Owner; MS, CCC-SLP

Janette received her Master of Science in speech-language pathology from Moorhead State University and Bachelor of Science in speech-language pathology from North Dakota State University. She has practiced pediatric speech-language therapy in a variety of settings including an Early Intervention program, educational setting, and in a medical facility. She has taught at the college level focusing on traumatic brain injury for the pediatric population. She specializes in oral motor skills, feeding deficits, neuro-developmental skills, apraxia, cochlear implants, hearing impairments, reading deficits and auditory deficits. She has also received extensive training and certification in the areas of Fast ForWord, Beckman Massage, and Advance Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to feeding, restructuring oral muscular phonetic targets (PROMPTS), Talk Tools and Cochlear implants.

Janette has two children, Gannon and Kiana.  Janette and her husband are members and actively involved in the El Zagal Shrine. In her spare time, Janette enjoys watching her daughter play hockey, spending time at the lakes and attending the NDSU Bison football games.

Janette is the speech coordinator and owner at Pediatric Therapy Partners.

Arica Strehlow

Arica received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Minnesota State University Moorhead in the area of speech-language pathology.

Arica has experience working with children in articulation, phonology, language disorders and delays, social aspects, cognition, swallowing (dysphagia), and voice. Additionally, she is trained in visual phonics, a system of hand shapes with corresponding movements to aid in teaching speech and reading. She believes that the key to successful therapy intervention is educating and training the child’s family, caregivers, and staff to ensure carry-over of skills into the child's natural environments.

Outside of therapy sessions, Arica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going camping, and relaxing at the lake.

Brianna Jallo earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Bachelors of Science Degree in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders from University of North Dakota.  

Brianna has a variety of experience working with the pediatric population in the hospital and school settings. Brianna has a special interest in working with the Deaf and hard of hearing population including experience in cochlear implants and is proficient in American Sign Language. Her experience ranges from providing treatment for swallowing, reading disorders, articulation, childhood apraxia of speech and Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC).

While Brianna isn’t taking care of her patients, she enjoys spending time with friends & family, crocheting, being at the lake, and going to the archery range.

Diane Peterson

Diane received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz. She brings a wide variety of experience and specialties from public schools and rehab work in Alaska, Arizona, Minnesota, Montana, and North Dakota.

Diane especially enjoys working with children of all ages, particularly school-aged, on articulation, phonological disorders, fluency, and language disorders. Diane has continued education in stuttering issues, childhood apraxia of speech, and working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

In her free time, Diane participates in musical productions and likes to spend time with her children & grandchildren. You can often find her reading, singing, traveling, and involved in church activities.

Haley Colby earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Bachelor of Science Degree in the field of Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences from Minnesota State University of Moorhead.

Haley has a variety of experience working with the pediatric population.  Her experience ranges from providing treatment for swallowing, language disorders, articulation, pragmatics, social skills, and Augmentative Alternative Communication. Her areas of interest include feeding, articulation, and language development.

While Haley isn’t taking care of her patients she enjoys playing volleyball, reading, being outdoors, and finding her next big adventure.

Haley holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and a bachelor’s degree in speech-language-hearing sciences, both from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

With previous experience in a preschool program, middle school and hospital setting, Haley is interested in working with children of all ages and abilities. She specializes in treating children with articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia of speech, language delays, social skills deficits, augmentative alternative communication(AAC) systems, as well as oral motor and feeding difficulties. Haley has completed training in the areas of social cognition and early literacy, and management of complex feeding issues.

Haley loves the opportunity to help nurture young children every day and give them the necessary tools and skills they need to build a strong foundation for life.

Outside of work, Haley enjoys reading, music, creative arts, and outdoor activities. She joined PTP in the summer of 2016.

Jessie received her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of North Dakota and Bachelors of Science from Minnesota State University Moorhead in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences.

Jessie has experience working with children that demonstrate concerns in the areas of articulation, phonological processes, childhood receptive and expressive language disorders, literacy with the emphasis in the LiPS Program and childhood dysfluencies.  Other special interests include children with behavioral and sensory feeding deficits. She has prior working experience in the public school system.

In her free time, she enjoys doing lots of outdoor activities that include camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking.  She also enjoys being involved with local volleyball and basketball leagues.

Michaela Worms received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Speech & Communication Sciences from Minnesota State University of Moorhead.

 Michaela has a variety of experience working with the pediatric population. She is trained in language disorders, augmentative alternative communication (AAC), articulation, social skills, and fluency. She enjoys being a speech-language pathologist due to the variety the profession brings and the opportunity to learn something new every day. Michaela has experience working within the Early Intervention Partners program and in an elementary school.

 Michaela’s professional areas of interest include AAC, language disorders, fluency and working with children who have autism.

In her spare time, Michaela enjoys hanging out with friends and family, playing tennis and softball, watching movies, going to sporting events, and going to the lake.

Rachel Coppin received both her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science Degrees from Minnesota State University Moorhead in the area of speech-language pathology.

Rachel has worked in the field of speech-language pathology for over 30 years. She has extensive experience working with children that present themselves with the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Additionally, she is trained in the use of visual supports and picture exchange communication systems, Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) and has training in Digital Auditory Aerobics. She has additional education in Play Therapy for deregulated children. She is currently a member of the PTP Assistive Technology team.

In Rachel’s free time, she enjoys reading and watching movies, loves karate and is a black belt!

Tessa Samson

Tessa received her Master of Science in Communication Disorders at the University of Wisconsin River Falls and Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Minnesota State University.

Tessa has experience working with pediatric through adult populations. She has worked with children with articulation disorders, language delays, autism spectrum disorders, cognitive communication deficits, hearing impairments, social communication deficits, and augmentative alternative communication (AAC). Tessa has a passion for working with the deaf and hard of hearing population through habilitation and rehabilitation, and previously interned at a deaf/hard of hearing center base elementary school as part of the school district’s Cochlear Implant team.

She has received training in visual phonics, oral motor assessment and treatment, natural language acquisition in Autism (as it relates to Echolalia), and basic sign language. She is also First Aid/CPR certified and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified.

In her spare time, Tessa enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, reading, baking, and spending time outdoors.

Amanda Swope

Mandy received her master’s degree in speech-language pathology and her bachelor’s degree from Minot State University. She has experience working in early intervention, and as a former clinical student at PTP, she has experience in pediatrics and understands all aspects of our clinic. Mandy appreciates the collaboration between all disciplines to ensure the whole child is being treated.

Mandy enjoys being an SLP for the pediatric population because of the wide variety of ways she can help make a difference in children’s lives. Getting to work on speech sounds, fluency, social skills, voice, feeding, language, and general communication skills all in one day is a privilege she doesn’t take lightly. She has advanced training and certifications in social thinking, assistive technology, and childhood apraxia of speech.

Outside of appreciating the little things with her patients, Mandy likes to spend her time doing anything outdoors (fishing, walking trails, swimming) and loves to spend time with family and friends. She joined Pediatric Therapy Partners in summer 2016.

Amy Peterson

Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from the University of North Dakota.

Amy has experience working in public school settings, hospital settings and private practices. She also works as a speech therapist and supervisor at Elks Camp Grassick. She enjoys collaborating with parents and families to allow her to be successful with the treatment of all her patients. She especially enjoys working with children that have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and language delays. She also enjoys social language, narrative language, and augmentative and alternative communication.

Amy has had additional training in intervention for autism, narrative language, phonological disorders, and visual phonics. She has advanced training and certifications in PROMPT, SOS Feeding, and Beckman Oral Motor.

In her free time Amy enjoys outdoor activities, reading, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.

She has experience in a school setting as well as a hospital, where she collaborated with the OT and PT departments. She also has advanced training in working with childhood apraxia of speech.

Ava enjoys working with children on articulation and phonology, fluency, pragmatics and social skills, and early language delays. She likes the variety that being a pediatric SLP brings and the opportunity to learn something new every day!

Ava loves being outdoors, spending time with family, friends, (and pets!), going to concerts and live music events, reading, and exploring new places. She joined PTP in summer 2016.

During Bethanie’s free time she enjoying being outside; including kayaking, hiking and golfing; spending time with her family and reading.

Hannah McDonald earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, both from the University of North Dakota. She has worked with children her whole adult life, and has experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a private practice setting.

Her professional interests include childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Orofacial Myofunctional disorders. She has experience in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication Systems), tongue thrust, and experience with programming and implementing the Proloquo2Go Application.

When Hannah isn’t caring for our patients she enjoys outdoor activities; biking, camping, hunting, and fishing.

Kari received her masters of science degree in speech-language pathology from University of North Dakota and her bachelors of science degree in communication sciences and disorders from Minot State University.  For the past five years, she has worked in a pediatric outpatient facility and in an education setting.  Her areas of interest are articulation disorders, stuttering and written language. She holds certifications in the ability to use Kansas Writing Strategies.

In her free time, Kari enjoys painting, gardening and spending time with her cat, Rizzo.

Kirsten received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders and minor in Deaf/Hard of Hearing studies from Minot State University. She went on to get her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University Of North Dakota.  Kirsten has experience in outpatient, inpatient and rehabilitative pediatrics. She also has experience in the school system as well as inpatient adult acute care. Her professional interests include Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Cochlear Implants, Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), pediatric dysphagia/picky eating, and childhood apraxia of speech.  Kirsten is certificated through ASHA, and has additional training in Pediatric Dysphagia, SOS Approach to Feeding, AAC, and childhood apraxia.

When she isn’t helping patients; Kirsten enjoys cooking, house projects, fitness, and spending time her husband and their dog.

Krista received her Bachelor of Science degree in speech/language/hearing sciences from Minnesota State University Moorhead and her Master of Science degree in communication disorders from Minot State University.

Krista has worked as a speech-language pathologist within the public school setting for preschool to middle school aged children. She also has experience working in a medical facility with infants through adults with an emphasis on pediatric therapy. She enjoys working in the following areas: articulation, phonological, apraxia, literacy, developmental language, and pediatric feeding and swallowing.

Krista has received specialized training developmental apraxia of speech, articulation and phonological disorders, PECS, LiPS, assessment and treatment of children on the autism spectrum, and pediatric feeding and swallowing.

Krista is married with 2 daughters. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her puppy, watching movies, playing piano, and going to the lake.

Bobbi received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Mary. Before joining the PTP team, Bobbi spent 18 years in the healthcare field, with the last 11 of those years coordinating and working with community partners in an childhood injury prevention program.

In her free time, Bobbi loves to spend time with her two children, watching her eldest son play college baseball, and is a foster parent through Cass County Social Services.  She is a huge NDSU Bison football fan, enjoys attending and watching sporting events, and reads when she can find the time.

Courtney received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Retail Merchandising from North Dakota State University. She has been working in healthcare management for over 10 years, and has experience in patient care, insurance, and marketing.

Courtney is married with 2 kids. When she is away from the office she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, time at the lake, and being outdoors.

Brooke, who is originally from Bismarck, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She is currently a second year Physical Therapy student at the University of Mary, and has had some clinic experience in the PT setting prior to joining PTP. Her interests include pediatrics, orthopedics and sports medicine. She is a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer, and is CPR/AED/First Aid certified.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and family. Brooke lived in Rome for a while, which was ideal for her as she loves traveling! She also enjoys hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors!

Katie holds bachelor’s degrees in both early childhood education and elementary education from University of Mary in Bismarck. With experience as an owner and director of a daycare, a kindergarten teacher, and founder of the therapeutic riding center TR 4 Heart & Soul, she understands child development from all angles.

A believer in the whole child approach, Katie is passionate about encompassing everyone in all-inclusive activities and sees the benefits for both typically developing children and those with developmental delays.

Katie enjoys spending time in the outdoors, especially running, being with her horses, and cheering on her kids! She joined PTP as the screening coordinator in the summer of 2016.

When she’s not crunching numbers, Erica loves spending time with her two young children, especially being outside in the warm weather at the beach, and she enjoys health and fitness. She joined PTP in summer 2016.

Valerie “Val” Hoff is from Moorhead, MN. Val studied legal technology at MSCTC in Moorhead. She worked in the legal field for fifteen years, including having worked in the public defender’s office ; and has worked in medical billing for almost ten years.

Val and her husband are avid Harley Davidson motorcycle riders, and spend most of their summer weekends riding. When she isn’t riding she enjoys spending time with her three kids, five grandchildren and her two dogs.

Leah comes to PTP with a variety of professional and personal experiences that make her a great fit to understand our staff and families. She received her master’s degree in human resources management from Webster University, her bachelor’s in communication from the University of Northwestern, and an associate’s in nursing from Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

Leah has experience as an LPN, working as a family case worker, and in training, education, and outreach. She enjoys staff training and program recruiting.

When not organizing spreadsheets and taking care of our staff, Leah enjoys cooking and baking, music, and spending time with her family. She joined PTP in the summer of 2016.

Melissa Sather

Melissa comes to us with various professional experiences that make her a great fit for PTP; she has over 15 years in customer service, owns her quilting business and plans events for her local Crossfit organization. 

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, Crossfit, sewing/quilting fishing, camping and just started learning paying the cello.

Melissa joined our team in January 2018.

Marketing & Recruiting Specialist

Megan comes to PTP with a variety of professional and personal experiences that make her a great fit for PTP. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Mass Communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead; as well as a minor in Spanish from the University of  Valencia, Spain.

Megan has worked in the marketing field for over five years; in a variety of business sectors, including having worked the healthcare field before. Megan is CPR & AED certified.

When she is not recruiting new staff and updating social media, Megan enjoys traveling the world (having traveled to over 20 countries), concerts, spending time with her rescue dog Tank and husband Brady. She joined PTP in the fall of 2016.
